In July of 2004 Critters Pet Store moved to a new space in the Rio Rancho Marketplace shopping center around the corner from Papa John's Pizza next to the Laundromat in suites J-K. Our large selection of pets includes puppies, kittens, birds, guinea pigs, dwarf rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, reptiles (snakes, lizards, turtles), rodents (hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats), plus freshwater and saltwater fish.
Critters Pet Store sells a wide variety of puppies. We carry mostly registered (AKC, ACA, APR, UKC, etc.) puppies of small or companion breed dogs. Breeds that we most often have in the store are: Shih Tzu, Pug, Miniature Pinscher, Rat Terrier, Maltese, Yorkshire Terrier, Boston Terrier, Bichon Frise, Poodle, Dachshund, Pomeranian, Japanese Chin and
Kittens are available for $20 during the "kitten season" of May through November. These are kittens from Rio Rancho families where their pet has had a litter of kittens that need homes. The health of the kittens is unknown to store personnel and is not guaranteed. The kittens have generally not been tested or given any immunization shots. We do ask that you take your new kitten to the vet as soon as possible to be started on shots and a health plan. Also, please plan to have the kitten spayed or neutered as soon as it is old enough. If you live out of the city, you will need to keep the kitten inside the house so it does not get injured or killed by the mesa's predators.
"Chicken Soup for the Pet Lovers Soul" is top quality pet food in puppy, adult dog, senior dog, kitten and adult cat formulas. It comes in both dry and canned versions. They only use human grade ingredients and it contains Omega 3/6 and glucosamine/condroitin.
